Beauty Treatments

We are now offering 2 exciting new treatments, so I want to take this opportunity to tell you all about them and answer some frequently asked questions.

What is HIFU?

What is HIFU: High intensity focus ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-surgical facelift treatment. A HIFU treatment is an amazing a one-off treatment which will help you achieve tighter, firmer, and lifted skin!
HIFU stimulates to natural collagen production to lift and tone the face, creating a natural uplift, reducing the visible signs of ageing.

How does it work?

HIFU uses ultrasound technology to penetrate the foundation layers of the skin to encourage and strengthen collagen growth.

Who is suitable for treatment?

A suitable candidate is someone who is aged 30+ who has noticed that the skin on their face or neck has become more lax and wishes to lift and tighten the relevant area.

For patients in their 30s it is typically used to stimulate collagen production and hence help delay the ageing process.

Patients in their 40s and 50s are the most common age group who have this treatment.

It is also suitable for those aged 60+ provided the degree of laxity is not too great. It is also for those who have had surgery in the past to prolong the effects of surgical facelifts.

What can be treated using HIFU?

  • Brow lifting
  • Jowl lifting
  • Mid face lifting
  • Nasolabial fold reduction
  • Neck lifting and tightening
  • Overall skin tightening and rejuvenation

How long does 3D-HIFU results last?

Most people find results last over 1 year, although yearly touch-up treatments are recommended to stay ahead of the ageing process. *

Does it hurt?

Most people do not report pain. There can be mild to moderate discomfort over bony areas or a warm sensation in the skin during treatment.  The energy on the machine can be reduced if needed to make treatment more comfortable

Is it safe?

Thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide using HIFU technology without significant adverse events. In addition, ultrasound energy has been used safely in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.

Is 3D-HIFU classed as surgery?

No. While the ultrasound treatment does target the deep layer of skin often addressed in surgery, it does not involve general anaesthetic or cutting the skin in any way.

Can 3D-HIFU replace a face-lift?

Although 3D-HIFU is not a replacement for surgery, it is ideal for people who wish to uplift the face and neck but who do not want surgery. It is considered more of an ‘uplift’ than a ‘facelift’ and can be combined with other non-surgical lifting treatments to further enhance the results.

What kind of results do you get with 3D-HIFU treatment?

Ultherapy addresses skin that is mild to moderately loose or lax, specifically by reconditioning and renewing the skin from within. Ultherapy will lift the brow, which in turn reduces excess skin on the eyelids, opens up the eyes, and gives a more refreshed look overall. Patients have reported firmer, more toned skin in others areas of the face and neck as well.

Will I need more than one 3D HIFU treatment?

The majority of patients need only one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment (depending on how much laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and collagen rebuilding process).

Is there any downtime?

There is normally no downtime or recovery time needed. Most people return to normal activities right away.

Are there any side effects?

There may be slight redness following the treatment. A small amount of patients report swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch.

After the procedure…

You can put make up on after 20 minutes
Do not get wet for 8 hours
Do not use hot water for 3 days (just room temp water)
Do not do vigorous exercise for 1 week
No face massage or saunas
In case of swelling use ice pack for 15 mins a day for 3 days

Fat Freeze

What is Fat Freeze?

Fat freeze or cryolipolysis, is a ground-breaking treatment of non-invasive ‘fat freezing’. By using controlled cooling the machines ‘kills off’ cells of subcutaneous fat that aren’t removed by diet or exercise, without damage to the skin. The body then breaks down the dead fat cells and disposes of them naturally.
Amazing results after just one session will develop over 2-3 months, a great way to get rid of that stubborn ‘muffin top’, treatment can be used on areas such as stomach, inner thighs, love handles and is a great for removing stubborn fat bulges and contouring.

How does it work?

Cooling heads are placed onto the area being treated and the machine uses suction to draw the skin and underlying fat into the cooling head. The machine then uses controlled cooling to lower the temperature of the fat cells, which in turn kills off the fat cells. The cells are then naturally processed through the body and disposed of when you pass water.

During the treatment you may experience some pulling sensation or mild pinching in the first 5-10 minutes. Most people report no pain. Following the procedure there may be some redness, tenderness or bruising but side effects usually subside within 14 days.
